J. L. Morgan Company announce key changes
Top public affairs firm never stronger, founder says
The J. L. Morgan Company today announced key personnel changes designed to position the 26-year-old company and its roster of marquee clients for an even higher level of public affairs service on all levels of government.
Tyler “T.J.” Kaplan, who joined the company in 2011, is now Principal of J.L. Morgan Company. As a strategic advisor to multiple Fortune 500 companies, he has nurtured deep relationships with key state government decision makers, particularly in the areas of technology, healthcare, transportation, education, and utilities.
Lauren Pollow is promoted to Managing Director after serving as the team’s Legislative Director since 2018. She has extensive experience in healthcare policy, community economic development, and association leadership.
Charlotte Davis joins the firm as Legislative Director following a six-year stint as part of the advocacy team at the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA), including serving as deputy director of governmental relations.
Graham Segrest continues to provide clients with real-time reports on key issues as well as managing one of the firm’s key client’s thought-leadership on recycling.
“We started with four clients and a lot of plans 26 years ago. Our team — and our commitment to our clients — has never been stronger,” says Jay Morgan, who founded the firm in 1996 and will continue to lead it. “Our results-oriented strategies and tactics are unparalleled for their consistency and quality among Atlanta-based public affairs firms.
“Charlotte’s work ethic has proven value at the Capitol,” says Morgan. “In leading up to today’s announcement, we were impressed by how she immediately embraced our firm’s values, reflected in every success we have experienced since T.J., Lauren, and Graham joined our team.
“Now, with these four teammates — all proven leaders and selfless advocates for our clients — we can continue to grow with our clients and help them implement their plans for growth in Georgia. We are proud of the work we do and will continue to do.”
The firm recently assisted the Georgia Hotel & Lodging Association secure a $150 million grant from American Rescue Plan funding for the State of Georgia. Since the end of the 2022 legislative session, several new clients have joined the J.L. Morgan Company roster, including longtime industry leaders such as AT&T, Centene, Google Cloud, Grady Health System, McKesson, Procter & Gamble, and VW/Audi.
“This is an exciting time for our team,” said Kaplan, who got his initial taste of politics working for former Congressman Tom Price in Washington, D.C. “We have more than 50 years combined experience here, and we’ll put that expertise to work every day.”
